10 reviews for Wahoo ELEMNT Rival Running/Multisport GPS Smartwatch

Saw the watch was on sale and it was just what I needed, a daily watch, a good HR monitor for riding and easily paired with my Wahoo bike computer. But 4 days of wearing it and 1 of the 5 buttons just fell off. Could not get it back in. Had to send back and just so disappointed in Wahoo with this watch.

Muy buen producto 👍, llego bastante rápido, aunque totalmente descargado solo fue necesario unos minutos para que estuviera listo para usar

I am a Wahooligan by joyous admission. I have several Wahoo products and enjoy them all, but the Rival just doesn’t measure up to the quality of their other offerings.

Tl;dr, the lack of quality made me return the watch.

I’m not fussed with the lack of software features of the Rival as though I have measured sleep and HRV for recovery for a few years, I rarely act on the advice given to me from my wearables. I find the featureset on the Rival adequate and believe that it should be plenty for the majority of users. My only issues are with the quality of the product as compared to competing brands as well as the ELMNT bike computers which in and of themselves are top notch products in terms of hardware and software.

The primary issues I have with the Rival in its current state are as follows: light-bleed from the screen feels cheap; plastic buttons that make differing clicking noises at times when pressed is not confidence-inspiring; inconsistencies of the plastic resin casing; and the earth-shaking vibration motor (even on low) is wrist-numbing.

Outside of the complaints there are some great hardware features such as adaptive backscreen (ambient sensor), being able to choose just phone calls for notifications (software), battery life + the other highlighted features.

For $330 USD its easier to pay for than the previous asking price of $380 USD, but I feel there are still too many other higher-quality options on the market as of now. Hoping Wahoo makes a more compelling product in the future, because once they do then I’m buying.

This is the cheapest watch you can get that has full support for running and cycling. It can connect to all sensors including pods, cadence, power, speed, etc. It’s not the most accurate watch but in general it is close enough. The battery life is awesome, you can customize all of the sports profiles. I find the HRM to be fairly accurate if I’m not moving very much, like on a walk. Anything more intense and I just use my chest monitor as the watch seems to go all over the place.

  7. Amazon Customer

El producto cumple con todas las expectativas, llegó de manera ágil y sin ningún inconveniente.

  8. Tuechter

Watch is amazingly brilliant. Easy to set up via Wahoo app. Highly recommend this brand for their customer service (which I used for another device), but this watch is much better than any competitors. Syncs well with bike computer and phone.

  9. Gian Paolo Montoya

Always had Garmin and took the dive on Wahoo. Pretty happy so far.
