So I bought this for skiing, and overall I really liked it after a week of daily use. The only other brand I’ve used is Camelbak, so I’m going to compare it to one of those. First, the price. This is less than half the price of a comparable Camelbak product, and while this product isn’t as high in quality as that one, it is an excellent value.

Back itself – It is a very lightweight pack and seems sort of flimsy compared to the typical camelbak. The straps in particular are thin and I would not expect this to survive more than one season of regular use. The straps around the chest and belt seemed to loosen themselves a little after a whole day, which wasn’t great, but it’s a small enough pack and I wore it under my hard shell so this wasn’t really a big deal. Putting granola, phones, small items in it worked fine but if the pack is full of liquid it doesn’t leave much room. It was comfortable enough and under my hard shell I could forget I was wearing it (once the bladder got a little less full).

Bladder and hosing – The fill opening on the bladder is much smaller than a Camelbak opening – this is ok but I can’t get my whole hand inside if I want to clean it. Not a big deal, but the other brand uses bigger openings. The bladder sits in its own pouch on the back and the hose just snakes around to go to the sleeve on the straps. It does not quick-disconnect from the bottom of the bladder, which is a bummer because that is a nice feature for filling. A few times I tried to fill it and because I didn’t want to snake the whole hose out I ended up with water on my pack – right where it contacts my back. I learned how to prevent this but the first few times it was tricky. The hose itself was fine, and seemed strong, but I had to snake it all of the way across my chest to get it to sit in a convenient position. It had a nice clip to hold it there but that clip does lot look like it would survive a good fall right on top of it. The bite valve was great, worked perfectly, and the cut-off switch was pretty easy to manage with one hand. It was a little tougher to open than close based upon its design but overall I was pleased.

I would recommend this product for anyone who wants a low cost hydration pack and doesn’t need something terribly rugged or that will get every day use.

They could easily sell this for double the price and it would still be a good deal. The quality of crafting and materials is top quality, and for such a low price. I was very pleasantly surprised, I come from a background of mountaineering, so I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to packs, and this does not disappoint. It comes with a bladder and plenty of room for a small kit and packable jacket. If you need a hydration pack in this size, this is it.

UPDATE: I ordered a well-known competitive brand to replace this one and had similar issues. I found a video suggesting to rotate the cap in the opposite direction first until it clicks, then to tighten it. Although it didn’t help on the other pack, I went back and tried it on this one too – bingo!! I used it for 3 days at a music festival and it worked out great! I’m upping my review and think it deserves 5 stars for the price. My only remaining complaint is that the Velcro stuck to the fabric and started to mess it up a little, but it’s not a big deal given the price.

    Original review:
This appeared to be a well-made little hydration pack / backpack and I was excited to try it out before using it at a musical festival in a few weeks. To start, it was pretty cumbersome to remove the bladder from the backpack and then to angle the opening under a faucet to fill it. once full, I noticed some leakage from around the cap, which I ignored and hoped would get better. It only got worse. I put the bladder back in the bag (also difficult once full) and water started pouring out from the bottom of the bag, all over my kitchen. I set it down to clean up, and even more water was pouring out from around the cap area. The cap was twisted as tight as it would go, but there was a steady leak from the bottom. Sadly, this is a total no-go.

This lite weight hydration back pack is GREAT 🙂 We took this to Greece with us and each day we’d fill with ice & water and we never had to worry about going thirsty. It has two compartments, one with a zipper & the other made of mesh. Even keeps your cell from overheating by keeping the cell in the zippered compartment along with keeping some paper money & hotel key. I Highly recommend this product even if you are just laying on the beach. My suggestion is to fill with lots of ice (2/3) and water (1/3). Ice will melt, remember this is not an insulated thermos/product. It is extremely light weight & easy to take all over. You can even fold up and put in mini fridge.

I bought this to carry on walks and runs with my Alaskan Malamute! It’s perfect! Two liters, a place to carry a foldable water dish and another pocket for poop bags. Great value!

  6. James Bigelow

Access to the water reservoir is limited in that the pack must be completely removed to fill, which is less than ideal. The waist straps are not long enough for anyone with a waist size bigger than a toothpick. However, the bite valve works very well is allows for comfortable placement and access.

  7. Porbob

The pack fits well and the storage is just right for my daily walks to the river. A great water pack! Easy to drink from.

Perfect daypack size. Main compartment large enough for a small snack and bike tool kit. Product seems to be of good quality. The 1 litre bladder can be tricky to put back in when empty, but I like that there is a velcro tab and loop to hold the bladder upright.

Good quality and space to hold other items
