I have been looking for an Armband for my old Ipod for a long time. Most of the stuff out there is for the latest version or phone version, but this one works well. It is a little tight and it more difficult to adjust after it is on than the one I had that used velcro. However, it works great and I can manipulate the control wheel well.

I purchased this armband because my Griffin band that I’ve had for a few years now tore on the side. I was looking for something more durable than anything I’ve seen available from Griffin. I thought I found it when I saw this armband on amazon. Now having arrived, I can say that the seller did do a fantastic job in shipping out their product as soon and promptly as possible. Yay for Prime!

However, the armband has barely met even my basic expectations. I wanted something that would encase my entire iPod classic and granted I have an older model of the classic, I don’t even see how I a touch or something bigger or wider than a classic iPod could fit in this thing. It does stretch out to “fit” the iPod. My classic is completely encased with a little bit of wiggle room but that is really only due to the fact that it feels like it’s about to pop out.

Also, I don’t know how the newer iPod classic models are made, but my 160GB classic iPod has the headphone jack and hold button on the top while the charging plug is on the bottom. This band has the holes for headphones and anything accessible upside down. You put the iPod completely in through the bottom of the band where it opens up all the way so if you want to have it facing the proper way, the entry hole for the iPod in the armband ends up facing the floor. My concern is that when I am doing high intensity exercise my iPod will slip out. And really, my iPod is far more important than this armband that costs about 15 bucks but really worth about 10.

The fit of the band is slightly cumbersome as well. Adjusting the band is about as easy can get but if you’ve got muscular arms or really small arms, you are out of luck. You can fashion something for yourself to make due with the lack of extra length adjustment by either adding more fabric if you want to fit a bigger arm or you can tighten it to its tightest possible if you’ve got an especially small arm…but I feel that there are other bands that can probably save you this trouble.

Some pros are the material it’s made out of. It feels comfortable enough and since I am going to wear it upside down with the headphone jack facing the floor, I almost have faith that this will perform like I want it to. And by that I mean I hope it lets me listen to music while I’m having fun sweating it out and my iPod doesn’t fly off my arm and hit my shins. I am a somewhat profuse sweater so if this doesn’t completely absorb everything I’m going to give it then this band might deserve a full three stars. In my opinion, this band should get a 2.5 star rating, but I don’t have that option. This is mediocre at best. It’s more effort for me to return than to keep it. Last pro would be that the plastic screen does actually change the controls. This is an alright feature as I’m glad I will only have to just change songs by clicking “next” or “back” on my iPod. Dealing with the scroll through this plastic screen is already more trouble than that is worth. Good thing for Sennheiser headphones that have the volume control option.

Sorry for the lengthy review, but if I had the option of something better than this I would go for that. If it wasn’t more trouble to return this item, then I would do that. I believe there are better products available for an iPod classic as this certainly isn’t it. If you’re not going to be doing heavy exercise (high intensity interval training, running in the hot outdoors, sports, anything that would make you sweat and not glisten) then this might be the armband for you!

I’ve used this exact model for about 10 years now for my insulin pump (Medronic 630G) while I sleep. I can’t speak for the MP3 player portion of it, but it

The neoprene strap is super comfortable and it keeps the pump tubing from getting snagged on anything. I’m able to read the screen clearly & interact with the buttons through the plastic easily, and even use it as a mini flashlight if I need to get up in the middle of the night.

I had to replace this every 5 years or so as the plastic screen starts to crack at the bottom (see picture) and after year 4, the band starts to lose some of its elasticity.

At this price, it’s a super comfortable solution and I’m actually buying another 2 or 3 to last me another decade.

Much, much better than my last one. Don’t have to adjust. I cut out the piece where the volume control is.
    Comfortable, secure, built to last.

I had been looking for the ideal armband for my ipod to use while on the treadmill. When I saw this one, it seemed like what I was looking for. So far, I really like it and have no major complaints. The only think I didn’t like is the plastic cover over the control panel. It was really difficult to adjust the volume, especially while running. I solved the problem by cutting a circle in the plastic and it works perfect. The construction seems sturdy and it doesn’t move about on my arm unless I move it. I have a small frame and it fits me fine. I wear it on my right bicep.
