I have an excellent headlamp for early morning runs, but when there is mist/fog/rain, the reflection bounces back off the moisture and makes it hard to see. This chest light fixed that issue. I wear minimalist shoes, so I need to see the road surface well, and the light is bright enough for that. I like that the battery pack is on the back so weight is distributed well. Downsides are that the body is made of hard plastic, and I don’t think it would take too much to crack it–but that’s speculative. Also, if you’re around other people or your dogs, you need to remember to put a hand over the light to not blind them, whereas with my headlamp I can just tilt it down.

I get out early every morning and have had many different kinds of lights over the years – everything from shoe lights to headlamps. This is by far the best light I’ve ever owned for outdoor activities in the dark. The battery lasts a very long time. I don’t even need it on its brightest level to see where I’m going.

The light is great and I love wearing this along with a headlamp on night runs. I can see perfectly! I purchased 3 of the previous models and loved them, thus I bought three. A new light was gifted to me and it turns out it is a new model. What I like about it is it delivers much more battery life which is nice. What I dislike about it:
1. For some reason my light starts flashing almost as if there’s a short in it. It’s very irritating. Maybe it’s a faulty light but it doesn’t seem to do it when it’s fully charged, only when it’s less than maybe 75% battery remaining.
2. The added battery life has made for a large battery pack on the back strap vs being embedded in the light itself like before. Not a killer, BUT that brings me to number 3.
3. The charging port lies on the inside of the battery pack, so sits across the back when wearing. The prior model had it on the bottom of the light which facilitated plugging in the light and running it off a portable battery for as long as you need. I had done all-night runs running that light, and it was great. The port location on this model basically makes it impossible to run powered by a battery pack. So once the 5 hours or so burns out, it’s done.
4. They claim it’s 7 hours of battery life, I get 4-5 at best.
5. The red light on the back ALWAYS flashes. The prior model could be controlled where you could turn it off, or only run the red light and not the main light. The button is still there but seems to have the same functionality as the top button that just turns the light on and off and cycles through brightness level.
It’s still a great light for the price point, and had I not had the prior model to compare it to, perhaps I would have rated it higher.

This is the third chest light I’ve ordered over the years, and the best so far. There are three lights in the front, and as I walk my two dogs in the darkness of a rural neighborhood, the whole street is lit up! It is very comfortable to wear too. Since I just got it ( it didn’t need to be charged before using it: it worked right out of the box) I don’t know how long the charge lasts before having to be plugged in… but so far. I recommend it!
