I bought this to replace a chest strap. I was a little disappointed that it did not pair with my Samsung Galaxy, but my fitness app was able to detect and use so not a huge problem. It took a little trial and error to find the right position on my arm because it would lose signal but after I found the sweet spot no interruptions.

Excellent HR monitor in terms of simplicity, reliability of connection and battery life. Well worth the very reasonable price too!

I’ve purchased two of these in the last few years, and both stopped working within a few months of purchase. When the first one failed I thought I must have somehow broken it. So, I eventually bought another one (after using my Wahoo heart rate monitor in the interim — which worked fine and still works) and after a few months the second one too stopped working. Well, fool me twice, shame on me. I’m giving it two stars because I liked how the strap connected to the device.

Girlfriend uses this for indoor bike workouts and it does the job very well

Bluetooth is easy and fast, reading seems accurate, and is comfortable for her to use for her whole workout

    Definitely quality product

I wanted an armband monitor mainly because I consistently forget to put my chest monitor on before my cycling base layer and bib straps. I then have to strip half way down just to put on my chest strap. Silly, I know, but happened often enough that I tried the switch.

    Pros:
    – Easy to put on regardless of how clothed you are
    – More comfortable than a chest HRM, especially when wearing a pack
    – Tracking (when it stays connected) is on par with my chest HRM

    Cons:
    – Often drops connection with my Garmin Edge 530. It regularly stops displaying the HR info on my screen and will pick up a few seconds, to minutes, later. It dropped 13 times on a 64-mile ride recently and records exactly 72bpm to the .fit file when it drops. The downward spikes on my graph are apparent because I’m often keeping my HR in the 140-180 range.

    – Similar to dropped connections, I’ve had to remove it and re-add it to my Garmin several times for it to be recognized before I start a ride. I’ve never had to do this mid-ride so I’m not sure if they’re related.

    – You have to manually turn it on and off—and remember to do so every time. I just snap my chest HRM on, it connects to my device(s), I do my thing, snap it off, and throw it in my bag for next time. I repeatedly forgot to turn the Scosche on before a workout and then off again when I was done. This lead to missed initial tracking and a dead battery for my next workout. I eventually got into a routine, and it was just another thing to check off my list, but the chest HR is foolproof in comparison.

    – Battery life is poor. I knew this would be different from my chest monitor but didn’t think it’d be a big deal. And really, it’s not a huge deal, but you have to remember to throw it on the charger frequently. While I can get a few short weekday rides out of it before thinking of charging it again, my weekend rides often last hours and I regularly get a low battery alert on my Garmin. This happened recently on a 7-hour ride and it started warning me around hour 6. This is after a full charge. My chest HRM battery lasts for months and all I need to carry is a small CR2032 as a backup—not a big bulky case.

    – Strap is fiddly. Once the strap is connected, it’s solid, but will pop off at the slightest angle or twist. I believe this to be the intended design but I’ve often popped both sides off while trying to put it on or take it off—separating the monitor from the band. In comparison to the snaps on my chest HRM, the clasps feel cheap and don’t provide a satisfying snap into the monitor. I often double-check that it’s secure.

I really wanted to like this but it’s not for me. My cons might seem trivial but they’re not something I’m willing to deal with. My chest HRM is dead simple, never need to worry about it connecting to my devices, or worry about charging it—it just works. Maybe it’s a Garmin ecosystem thing. However, it was also spotty with my Concept2 rower and iPad (TrainerRoad) so maybe not. Regardless the issue(s), I’m sticking with chest HRM.

The Scosche Rhythm R+2.0: Waterproof/Dustproof Armband (“SRW”) does what the manufacturer promises it will do!! The SRW stays on your arm during exercise and, if you use the Scosche app or the Wahoo app, your heart’s BPM will read out on your cellphone in real time. Problem #1: the SRW, via either app, will *not* show you any type of graph/chart of your BPM over some specific period time, i.e., the app won’t provide a graph of BPM ranges during the course of a workout. Problem #2: the battery life is not great. For example, I wanted to see what my heart was doing while I slept. By the time you wake up, the SRW is dead or near dead and again, the apps won’t show you all your BPM ranges while you slept. You wake up and it will tell you what your BPM is at that moment. Problem #3: the light that tells you the SRW has power is tiny. Problem #4: The only function button on the band is a push button that will do X if you hold it down for 2 seconds and do Y if you hold it down for 3 seconds. In this regards, it is annoying that so many electronic gadgets (including this one) are like agility tests, counting quizzes and vision exams. Bottom line: if you want a BPM strap that will display your heart rate on your cell phone in real time, this product will do the job and at the price, it’s a good deal.

Ok, it works flawlessly with the wahoo fitness app, which does not have interval training. I’ve tried all of the top rated workout apps that allow you to build intervals, Intervals Pro, Seconds, Interval Timer, etc and it disconnects between 15 and 45 seconds into the workout. Scosche support says that because it works with the Wahoo App, it works and it’s every other apps fault. I’ve never had a heart rate monitor work with only some apps before, so this seems suspect to me. I’m past the return date, so not much I can do.

Ordered this thing to use with our Nordic Track exercise bike and treadmill. Took it out of the box, plugged the USB charger into it to charge it up, turned it on and it immediately synced up with both Nordic Track devices.
It appears accurate, and shows instantaneous heart rate on the screens of both pieces of exercise equipment. Frankly, I expected to experience sketchy or intermittent connection with the Nordic Track machines, but the R+2.0 appears to connect easily and stay rock-solid steady throughout the entire workout. I’m pleasantly surprised and would recommend this highly, at least to anyone looking to connect it to Nordic Track stuff.

Esta banda es la unica de las otras dos que he tenido de la misma marca que no tiene desconecciones y ademas es mucho mas precisa.

Got this to replace the Peloton heart monitor, works great! Holds a charge for a long time and the band is comfortable. No complaints.
