This is my new favorite headlamp. Over the years, I’ve grown to prefer warmer light over the crisp blue-white of most LEDs. In my search for a headlamp that offered warm, bright light, this lamp caught my eye.
Things I love:
– Type-C charging. One cable to rule them all! It’s so nice to be able to charge this light via type-c.
– Pro version comes with an extra battery. A simple battery swap is much easier than taking a break to charge your headlamp. As a plus, it’s cheaper to buy the pro version than purchase an extra rechargeable battery.
– AAA compatibility. While I haven’t used AAA batteries in this light yet, it’s nice to know that I can keep some AAAs around in case of emergency.
– It’s bright! Even on the lowest setting, this light is bright. Crank it up to turbo, and it’s like having a pair of headlights strapped to you head.
– Red LEDs are the best I’ve used on a headlamp.
– Warm color temperature!! This might just be my favorite feature of this light. It’s just so much more pleasant to see things illuminated with warm light vs cool light.
Thinks I would like to see improved:
– It’s bright! I wish the lowest setting was a bit more dim. While it’s nice to be able to clearly see things even on the dimmest setting, there are times when I wish it was a bit dimmer, like in my tent just before bed.
-Color temperature. In both the white & warm settings, the center of the spotlight area has a slight green tinge to it (see attached image). This is really only noticeable when you’re looking at an evenly colored surface, like a white wall. But nonetheless, I wish the color temperature was even across the throw of the light. I haven’t measured the CRI of this light, but based on my eye-meter, it skews a bit red. If this were certified 95+ CRI, I would pay big money for it!

Decent head lamp but wish it had more options and a green LED for to help with night vision.

Lightweight, bright, long run time, easy to use. The option to use AAA or the two rechargeable batteries is great! Batteries have charge port on them to make for easy recharge. Beam pattern is more of a spot w slight flood. Would b nice to have both lights on at same time…it’s either warm or white. Warm is nice color temp.

Both the battery pack and AAA’s only lasted about 15 minutes on high beam in 10 degree Fahrenheit temps. Definitely bright though.

This is advertised as a running headlamp but we use it for camping / backpacking. For that is works very well.
Initial impression: This is a very lightweight, comfortable, and easy to use headlamp. We really like the two color temperature options as bright white is pretty harsh, but also lights up areas very well, so it’s very nice to have that and the warmer color option. We tend to use the warmer color most of the time.
Features: The two button operation is super easy to use – you don’t really even need instructions! The feature we like the most is the two included rechargeable batteries – no more running out of AAA’s! We also love that the batteries can be charged outside of the headlamp. The stuff sack can also be used as a light diffuser, which is pretty ingenious. For backpacking, this means a dedicated lantern can be left at home to save on weight. The glow-in-the-dark battery compartment is pretty cool as well as it makes changing the battery in the dark that much easier. A battery indicator is also included; none of our other headlamps have this feature and we sure like having it!
Conclusion: There is so much to like about this headlamp. All of the cool features, rechargeable batteries, easy operation, and comfortable headband – this has become our go-to headlamp. We would definitely buy another and would recommend it with two thumbs up!

So I use this for work.
I hate the band and I am glad there are the hooks. It did keep the band in place.
I usually just use the low beam on and off all day.
And it has lasted for over a week without having to change the battery. I figured the battery would drain pretty fast, but it’s still lighting up.
I also like the addition battery that comes with it.
To change out when needed.
I like nitecore and have used them for years.
Light weight. 👍👍👍

Overall, this is a very good headlamp. The different light settings are useful and easy to use. I like the fact that it has a rechargeable battery.
The band and back of the light (where it sits on the head) are not as comfortable as I would like, but not bad. This would not be a problem at all if worn over a hat/cap.

It is a very practical headlamp for daily work and outdoors. It can also use AAA batteries. I have many NITECORE lamps.
