The light output on this is amazing and the battery life is even better than expected. Some people might prefer a mode memory, but I like that this light always turns on in the lower lumen setting.

Has plenty of settings, comfortable band, red light for night hiking and minimizing insect attraction. Has a lock mode and a way to see the battery level. Charges via USB c. Head strive mode, direct and flood mode.

Wanted a hiking headlamp that was rechargeable instead of taking batteries. Like that it’s USB C and not the older style of Micro USB. Will work well with my battery packs if I need to top it off while out on longer hikes, but the battery life lasts for hours anyways and I don’t plan on being out in the dark for that long hiking, but you always gotta be prepared just in case!

This is the reason why Nitecore one of the top brands in camping and backpacking lights. Thsi headlight will not disappoint.
In addition to charging quickly from its USB type C connector, with the included cable, it has an easily visible battery level indicator (blue LEDs in my 2nd photo) which can be seen even in the day.
Another nice touch is the reflective printing on the comfortable headband, so you can be seem even with the light off. It has 2 different brightness levels for the white flood beam, which is less power hungry that the spot. 3 modes for the high intensity spot LED, and a red LED with on and blink functions.
The angle of the light is easily adjustable and stays put where you set it, unlike many other lights. AS for the light output, I would say this is the only headlight I have ordered where I am confident that the light output is as described by the manufacturer. There are a lot of shenanigans going on with exaggerration of specs, but thankfully Nitecore doesn’t seem to partake in them. It is extremely bright in the brightest mode, and I full believe the rating of 550 Lumens.
Top quality, reliable item. YOu won’t be disappointed. Recommended.
