I’ve used the big names as in Garmin and Wahoo. My Wahoo strap broke recently and it was going to be $20 to replace. This was $24. It works just as well as the big brands for a fraction of the cost. It is accurate and comfortable. Unlike Garmin the battery is easily replaceable. It pairs to my Garmin Edge and Zwift. What more can you ask.

Worked great for about 6 months and was feeling pleased with myself for saving money on a dual band monitor. Unfortunately has become very erratic after 6 months and will continually start to read low after some time on the bike. Disappointed

When I discovered that my old Garman strap would not work with my new treadmill, I decided to try this much cheaper alternative to the Sole strap. This thing worked perfectly. Did not even need to moisten the leads to get it to work. I also like the fact that the battery is replaceable with a cheap common, readily available button battery. While I did not need it with this monitor, I would also recommend the Spectra Electrode Gell sold by Amazon to anyone having trouble with intermittent performance on any chest strap. It is cheap, neat, and works much better than water with my old Polar HRMs.

The sensor is made by Magene – a chinese cyclling tech manufacturer, that has been known as pretty reliable in recent years. Conveniently, the sensor is separte from the strap – so washing the strap after use is very easy without worrying about the sensor. Also, in case strap brakes, you can replace the strap and not the whole sensor.
In several use cases I have not had any issues with connectivity or reading reliability – seems pretty consistent with my smartwatch readings.
Connects without any issues to my Xoss Nav Plus cycling computer through ANT+ and my smartphone via Bluetooth.
The only issue I have is that back part of chest strap tends to slide down a bit, but the front one stays in place and readings are not affected in any way.
I think, you can buy this sensor without any worries.

I used it to track workouts using the FitIV app. This HRM is very erratic and unreliable; rate would both unexpectedly spike high and drop out entirely, frequently in the same workout. Battery replacement made no difference. Tried this one twice; there won’t be a third. Second one only lasted three months before readings became unreliable.

I’ve been a loyal Wahoo customer, but I’ve gone through two heart straps in < 3 years. They should be more durable than that (yes – I changed the batteries). I was going to buy another, and then saw the alternatives and thought I'd give Magene a try.
I also bought a bike computer, and speed/cadence sensor package, so I hoped they’d work well together.
I’ve used this on about ten rides so far. It syncs well to my computer and to my phone. It works with the Wahoo Fitness app, and Strava, as well as the Magene app.
It’s not perfect, but Wahoo has similar issues, and Garmin is just more than I care to spend.
It’s comfortable to wear, and seems pretty accurate. Don’t know if I’d recommend it for medical purposes, but for trying to keep your heart rate in a range while exercising, or for analyzing your performance, it’s pretty good.

Have used Polar chest monitors before, this is good, solid, reliable, band is comfortable, battery lasts (but I remove after each use, and sometimes keep in for longer,) connects easily with 3 Android apps that I use. Mangene Solid, reliable chest strap if there is an app that works with it. Highly recommend value, university, durability. Recommend.
