You’re probably wondering why I put up a picture of my wrist. Let me explain.
Picked this up earlier in the month since my company is doing a mental health awareness event. Part of which is also physical health. So needed a tracker.
I’ve tried a health tracker in the past, with the Samsung Fit line. I’ve also tried to wear watches in the past and with both I’ve been hit with contact dermatitis (Samsung) due to the plastic used in the body of the watch, and nickle allergy responses for watches.
I was aware this might be an issue going into the Garmin, but wanted to try it anyways.
Lo and behold, I did react to the band which you can see in the images above. But if you notice, there’s a giant gap between the ends of the band.
I didn’t react to the watch itself! I finally have a watch I can wear without reacting, and just need a replacement strap.
Garmin, I don’t know what you did different from so many other groups, but thank you!
Now for the watch itself, it’s decent. It has a little trouble on stairs, but so do I, so I can’t judge that too harshly. Tracking on my walks is fantastic, and I’ve already seen weight loss from the increase in walking and reduced calorie and carb intake from the dietary tracking it helps with.
Watch life is a little shorter than I’d like but that kind of helped stave off the dermatitis for a longer than usual period, so happy little accident.
Overall I’m stoked I decided to try this and if it ever dies I’ll consider a Garmin for my next tracker.

My Garmin VA3 was a refurb and was skeptical but couldn’t pass it up for the price. It has been a great addition for me as I like to track my heart rate and still have a nice looking watch that functions well, this has NOT disappointed. It was an easy setup and works great with my Android phone. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice looking watch with fitness tracking capabilities.
Side note: Average charge, every 3 days (good). Comfort, very good. Durability has been great as I am rough on my watches, no blemishes “yet”

This type of screen is really great for working outside/under the sun. I would hate to have to look at my watch and it feels like my cellphone where you need the extra brightness yet still can’t see anything. Really enjoy the watch being “always on” too. Feels more like a normal watch where someone else can look at your watch and see the time if that makes sense?
Features are good enough for most people. I don’t use all the exercise tracker and stuff but it’s great to keep track of all the data it gives for just normal life, like stress levels, number of steps, heart rate, etc.
It’s a pretty watch too and the size is perfect I don’t have gigantic arms and wrist being only 5’7 it’s perfect for my size.

Came from Apple Watch 3 pleasantly surprised.
I get 4 days on a battery. Not the 7 days as described but much better than the 1-day I got from Apple Watch.
The exercise tracking and end of day profile is much better than Apple Watch. I like that the watch automatically tracks, for example I go for a short walk with my wife every night. It automatically recognizes that I am doing a cardio, tracks it and catalogues it, and has it ready in my daily report. I can even review the GPS of my track on maps.
I like that I can shower with it or go for a swim (it also does swim tracking). It allows me to keep the watch on without having to take it off for a shower every day as I did the Apple Watch.
It periodically drops connection with my iPhone but reconnects right away. And the screen is not anywhere near the clarity of the Apple Watch.
But it’s a great Watch, and for the price (I paid $175), you can’t beat it. Apple could learn a few things.

If I could give 10/5 stars I would because my experience with Tech-Boutique has been absolutely amazing. Tech-Boutique is an authorized Garmin retailer and it shows. My watch came in a Garmin “refurbished unit” box, everything was securely wrapped, manuals and quick start guide included. Not to mention, Tech-Boutique sent their own troubleshooting card! The watch itself is stunning, not a single scratch, ding, or imperfection to be found; I’m still not entirely convinced this isn’t a new unit. The battery has an impressive life (I’ve gone 3+ days without a charge and heavy use) and it charged from 49% to 98% in about 30 minutes. The watch and Connect app are intuitive, the style is minimal without being boring, and the accuracy is top-notch. Highly recommend shopping with Tech-Boutique and highly recommend the Garmin vivoactive 3!

Obligatory disclosure: I had to order a replacement unit. The first one did not connect well to any phone, and was losing the bluetooth pairing every minute.
About the watch, it’s amazing. Fast, simple, and useful.
The battery on these renewed units will last between 3 and 4 days with light use, far from the week advertised by Garmin but more than enough.
The screen isn’t very pretty, but that’s the cost of having an “always on display” that doesn’t force you to charge the device every night. If a gorgeous, bright screen like a Galaxy Watch or Apple Watch is your thing, then you’re currently looking at the wrong watch. At least for me, I prefer it like this one.
The GPS accuracy isn’t perfect, but it’s accurate to the street level you’re walking down. Maybe you get the wrong sidewalk, but at least for me it’s not a problem.
Contactless payment is amazing (as long as your bank supports it).
9/10 watch. If I needed another one I would buy another one, but I liked this one so much that my next one will probably be something from the Fenix line.

Watch performs perfectly in every aspect. Tracking in the woods (without leaves) is spot on. Hopefully will be same during the summer months. Very wearable, I use it on backpacking and find the battery is very sufficient and it only takes 1% of my Rav battery pack to fully recharge it!

Was looking for a watch that interfaces wit a solid GPS for off road mountain biking mapping, which this covers with the app I use, and tracks heart rate, stress level, and a myriad of other things that I do not need, but for some, more info is better.
I am 6’2″ and am 235 lbs, and find this watch to be kinda small in regards to watch face diameter. Saying that though, it is lightweight and easy to read digits under most conditions (bright sunny days is a little hard to read), and is easy to forget that I have it on.
For my purpose, as a means to use for bike riding, it is good. Not my everyday wearing watch though.

I looked at 30+ watches looking for something perfect for the next 5 years, coming from a Vivoactive HR that has been stellar. They have nice tracking stats in the Garmin IQ app. And a whole bunch of of watch faces and apps in the Connect IQ app.
After looking at smart watches in the $250-$350 price range, I kept coming back to this one, because charging my watch every day = not appealing at all. Took the leap, glad I did. Still figuring out the various apps, settings, etc. Navigation is much easier on the Vivoactive 3 compared to the HR. I did slightly increase the backlight percent, and the watch gets me about 4 days. I’m losing about 20-22% per day battery charge. Similar usage, my HR lost 15% per day and I would recharge every 5th day.
One thing I was not at all crazy about, the watch band. Ordered a Notocity brand replacement, makes a big difference. Feels more premium compared. And with this new-to-me clip system for the watch band install, it was quite easy to swap out for an aftermarket watch band.
