This was a replacement for one that leaked after 18months so hoping for a bit more longevity . I believe it leaked after I wore it in a spa then immediately went in the pool. The temperature change may have contributed .

Im a garmin user and this 735xt is fabulous!! It gives me additional information during my runs that my old 620 and Venu didn’t.
Love the watch!

Note: “UPDATE” comments are based on a few years of having this device (or rather, the one I bought and the four replacements I have received since).
UPDATE: I really recommend getting the glass screen protectors. I’ve broken many of the protectors, but they only cost a few bucks…better than breaking the actual screen!
I bought this almost two years ago when I was going to do my first tri and started swimming. The main reason for getting it was so I could track laps in the pool. I also wanted GPS for running and open water swimming. I also like that I can get texts, calendar reminders and phone call notifications. (I turned off all the other notifications.) I really like the size/shape/most of the features, BUT:
BAD:
– This watch has major issues with charging. I’ve had to get THREE replacements.
UPDATE: I have now had FOUR replacements. The issues are not just charging. I have also had issues with buttons that stop working or get stuck (after salt-water swim), screens failing, charging, etc.
– When you need a replacement, it has taken 10 DAYS from when I ordered until I got the replacement (and even longer if they have to receive your device before sending out the replacement).
UPDATE: This is much improved. (Unfortunately, I have enough experience to make this statement!)
– Customer service sometimes responds quickly, sometimes takes days.
UPDATE: Again, this appears much better now.
– The battery doesn’t go long enough when in GPS mode for a long tri, or a really long hike, etc.
NOT BAD, BUT ANNOYING:
– Many times when I get a software update, it blows out my settings so that I start getting a buzz for EVERY email and have to go through and re-do those…not a huge deal, but annoying.
– There is this dumb performance indicator that is just annoying…not a deal killer, but I wish I could figure out how to turn it off. For example, when I run on the flat, it tells me I am rocking it. But when I trail run, all of the sudden I am a low-performing runner. I understand why this happens, but why turn on a feature that doesn’t work?
GOOD:
– I like the size/shape–I wear it all the time, including at work. It isn’t too thick.
– I like the band. And there are inexpensive replacements on-line.
– The battery lasts a long time (when NOT using GPS).
– I liked the price point, which at the time was very competitive for lap counting + GPS.
– UPDATE: The syncing has gotten much better. I sync to Garmin Connect and to Strava and they both have worked really well over the past year.
If it weren’t for the reliability issues on this device, I’d LOVE it. And before those kicked in, I recommended it to about 5 people who bought it. And they liked it (at least at first).

I use this device to monitor my runs , food input, kms and it had proven to be a great asset to me.

I had a few Garmin Watches before this connects faster to satalite than the older ones.
Great functionality and value for money

I love this watch! I cannot wait to try out the tri feature though or even set up a customized brick. This is, after all, a triathlon watch for those of us that want all the bells and whistles without completely breaking the bank! I can customize the watch face and download any app from Connect to personalize my device. I am impressed by the improved GPS and gait analysis that was missing from the Vivoactive. I also appreciate the audible beeps to let me know I’ve made a selection or failed to “start” an activity. I thought I would miss the touchscreen watch face, but it’s been quite nice not “swipping” indefinitely to get to the next screen. Overall, I love the functionality of this watch.

Genuinely love this watch – Have downloaded a number of genuinely useful Apps and the are all FREE! (replaced a failed Samsung product which was unreliable and all apps cost $5), But the best bit is despite 24 hour heart rate monitoring (which is 1000 x more accurate than the Samsung) the battery still lasts almost a week. Would have given it 5 stars but to force you to buy a more expensive watch Garmin deliberately remove some of useful functionality

This is my favorite purchase of the year. I upgraded since my last Garmin was stolen and I’m beyond happy. It’s way more comfortable and my last one was fairly comfortable too. I love all he features and once I figured it all out I am a very happy camper. Sometimes the sleep tracker gets wonky and doesn’t record. I’m not sure what that’s about so I just power on and off and it works again. Overall I’m very pleased. Miles are consistent and it gets GPS signal really quick.

As newer pricier models are out you can find this watch at some pretty good prices. I love it. It’s light and checks all the boxes for running, cycling, and swimming. To top it off, the GPS works much better than my Fenix 5! Would buy again in a hearbeat.

I need to express how helpful and supportive the Tech-Boutique company was in helping me through this process. The owner of the store reached out to me personally to help and I am sincerely impressed with his approach to customer service and his employees. He was honest, he listened, and went above and beyond. He cares about his customers and his company. I will highly recommend this company to everyone!!!
I have had multiple Garmins and have always liked them. But they get old and get ….. outdated. This 735 is exactly what I need. It links to GPS before the front door is open. (I live in some sort of void and it once took my vivo 10 minutes to find GPS so this is important to me) It is incredibly accurate and easy to set. I had to get a watch with no touchscreen because I notoriously shut off my runs before I intend to. No accidents here. It will also last for a full marathon for “middle of the pack” runners. I tested this on a short run, long run, and treadmill workout. Accurate and easy to set- still doesn’t need recharging. This watch links to the RD pod with no difficulty. I ran with my vivo (original) on my right wrist and the 735 on my left. They reported very similar accuracy – with the difference accounting basically for the gap in hitting go. The 735 screen is easier to read, even in sun.
