The refurbished unit is like new. Not the slightest blemish or issue with functionality.
As far as the watch itself, the functionality is great. All the sensors work as they should. The sleep monitor is surprisingly accurate. The navigation is not truly a substitute for a proper GPS unit but it is certainly handy (no pun intended) for a quick check or as a back up. (That it is completely functional on its own was a selling point for me.) The tracking works very well besides getting confused when running though a tunnel or such.
I don’t mind the lack of touchscreen too much as the button interface is intuitive, quick and still easy with groves or sweat. Maybe it would be nice with the navigation but that’s a minor point.
It is a big watch. Of course that is in part because of the size of the face but it is also rather thick. It is comfortable though.
The passive screen is a compromise for battery life. It looks very nice and is clear in good light and the likrwise with the light on in the dark. However there are the sort of in-between situations where neither is immediately clear. It also works far better with very high contrast content. The maps in particular can looked washed out depending on the settings and location.
The battery life is as advertised.
Of course everything went on sale right after I purchased it, but it still seems to be a ton of value for the money.

Moving from Fitbit to this Garmin Fenix 6s Pro, the sophistication of the tracking tools is vastly superior. I’ve tested biking, strength training, and indoor cycling so far, and they’re all solid. Coming to this from an AMOLED screen, I definitely prefer this screen. My last watch suffered from burn-in when I had it in always-on mode. Not an issue here. The battery life and build quality are excellent as well.
I’m a 5’7″ man, and the full size Fenix looks like a dinner plate on my wrist. the S sizes are exactly right for me.
I purchased this watch as a refurb in excellent condition, and it arrived indistinguishable from a new watch aside from the refurb box and the significant price reduction. Very much worth it.

“Solar” is BS- does not charge in the sun- I hope this gets better- was hoping to be able to actually not have to charge when I could leave it in the sun- it never adds battery regardless of direct sun and length of time.

This garmin is such a major upgrade from an apple watch. Battery life is amazing and so many more stats with just as many smartphone/watch features as an apple. I ordered the refurbished and could honestly not tell it was not new!

I had an apple watch and multiple “smart” watches and this watch is by far the best one ive used. Now it is the most expensive too, so no bargain find.
I recommend the purchase. Only issue i found is that the strap is too small. Now this one is marketed for women so i understand but im not buying the larger one, way to bulky/large

garmin knows how to make amazingly functional products that also look pretty. no touch screens that get in the way on a small device, just nice easy to use and navigate buttons. the sapphire screen is very scratch resistant

I upgraded from a Fenix 3 and truly love this watch. The design is beautiful. The function of the watch is outstanding. And the size and face detail improvements over the 3 are worth the price to upgrade.
My only 3 critiques are the battery life, lack of wireless charging and the quick release bands.
Battery Life
I’ve desperately read all the specifications and posts I could to see what I’m doing wrong. But, I’m sorry, I don’t notice any functional battery life improvement over my Fenix 3. And by functional, what I mean is, in my day to day use my Fenix 3 would be down to 96% each morning and I’d charge it during my morning routine. That’s after using GPS for an evening hike each evening. And now with my Fenix 6 Pro Solar, guess what, every morning It’s at 96 or 97% and takes the same amount of time to charge. And, yes, I had to turn off numerous features to get it to this point. I suppose when you consider the dramatic increase in screen resolution and GPS timing and some other features, it makes sense that my functional battery use would be the same. Still, I hoped for better.
Wireless Charging.
Why cant this have this? The aftermarket charging stands and the wire that came with it are clunky and don’t connect well. It’s a needless hassle in my otherwise wireless charging world.
Quick Release Bands
I do believe I’m a minority in this category (as evidenced by my lack of finding droves of others who share my problem) but I hate the quick release band attachments. At least 3 times per week I’ll catch my watch on my belt, on a table or my desk at work and it will rip off of my arm and fall to the ground. Most times I can find the watchband pieces quickly, which saves me the time I’ll need for my fat fingers to pinch that tiny little spring-loaded axle into the even tinier holes. Yes, I’ve tried different posts and different bands. Still rips off and falls to the ground. Should I be more careful and not so accident-prone? Probably, but as I near 50 and then 60 and then 70 I’m not sure I’ll magically improve in this area. But did I ever have this problem with my Fenix 3? No. No I did not. Cover your ears Garmin, but at some point, I’ll machine some holes in the watchband arms and go back to the Fenix 3’s more robust screw design.
All said, these are very minor things to MOST people and so I do HIGHLY recommend this watch.

I waited a long time to move from my Apple Watch to a Garmin BUT I AM SO GLAD I FINALLY DID! The battery life is amazing, the app is super full featured and most importantly, this watch is beautiful and so much more flattering than an Apple Watch. Packed with so many features I may never investigate them all but it is WAY easier to use and learn than I anticipated. TRY THIS WATCH!
