1 review for Digital Watches for Men Pedometer Step Calorie Counter Watch 5ATM Waterproof Sport Military Tactical Watch Stopwatch Countdown Alarm Sports…

  1. Rob R.

I didn’t see any reviews for this watch before I ordered it, but it seemed to have the features I was looking for which was mainly a date/time and a step counter, and one that didn’t require a phone, an app, or frequent charging to use. The watch arrived safely secured in a black cardboard slide-open box labeled SANDA. Inside the box was the watch and a multi-lingual instruction booklet. The print size of the booklet is VERY tiny and is supplemented with pictures. The watch setup wasn’t terribly difficult, but to avoid frustration you’ll need to study the setup instructions, perhaps with a magnifying glass, and familiarize yourself with what the watch’s 4 navigation buttons do before starting. The watch itself is nice looking and seems to be made of durable materials. I like that the watch is available in a wide range of colors. I ordered the watch in white but the color I received is light grey and I’m okay with that. The watch feels light on my wrist and the watchband is flexible and comfortable so far. The watch’s screen is recessed. Hopefully this will serve to ward off scratches and dings. The watch arrives with a protective film on the screen that you will want to peel off. In order to use the watch as a pedometer you will have to set the date and time then enter your height, weight, and estimated step length (metric or imperial). Just walking around my house, the step counter seems to be fairly accurate. The information on the watch face is nicely laid out in an easy-to-read size. The watch also has stopwatch, alarm, and history features but I didn’t mess with any of them. The UP/DOWN side to this watch is that the screen is not bright. The screen technology the watch uses appears to be similar to the early Pebble fitness watches. In bright light the screen is easy to read. In subdued light, the face will be difficult for some people to see UNLESS they tilt their wrist to just the right angle or press the BACKLIGHT button. The watch’s bright blue backlight makes the screen easy to read in low light or in the dark. The UP side to this watch’s less bright screen is you won’t have to charge it…. EVER! Overall, I like this watch very much. I will keep it and see if I can work it into my walking routine. Depending on how much I like it, I may even buy another in a different color. I bought this watch because of its features, its low price, and my need for a break from the constant charging and app fiddling associated with my smart watch. This sporty looking watch/pedometer isn’t going to be for everyone but for what it is, I rate it 5 stars.

Update: I found that the step-goal chime notification volume is rather low. It’s not a deal breaker for me but if I were using the watch as a wakeup alarm, I would require a louder alarm. I’ve also discovered that the watch face scratches easily so I’ve ordered a tempered glass screen protector for it. Aside from these small complaints, I still like the watch as it is unique for what it does and because it’s inexpensive compared to more costly smart watches, I’ve ordered another in a different color. The watch keeps perfect time and the step counter is accurate in counting my steps.
