Used for substitute when bulb burnout on nav light..

These are great, and a good price. Throw one in your trunk, your office desk, your workshop, your dorm room, your box of camping supplies and that “junk drawer”in the kitchen. I give them to family and friends as “stocking stuffers”.

I used item 3 times for about an hour each time. The light popped while I was using it and now it is garbage

Best price for 2 headlight. Not too big for closeups, pretty darn bright for repairs and outside activities, doesn’t drain even regular batteries for a long time, center-less strap allows for better positioning, great for bike riders-double redlights positioned behind your head, swivel is more dependable than my last type, and who can beat garantee for life. Glad I didn’t get those 1800 Lumens.

Bought as a pair.aaa batteries of one were dead on arrival.battery cover of both was difficult to close with batts in.this lite is made of very thin plastic so not certain how long it will last.I would consider it a semi disposable item as the price reflects

It is a pity, because in almost all other respects this is a decent head torch. It offers only narrow beam (strangely, the red is so diffused as to be nearly useless) but this works well for putting light right where you need to work. It is of course light, the “ratchet” works decently, etc. Heck, the strap itself is of quite high quality.
But every time I took it off or grabbed it by the strap when moving my tools or otherwise treated it in the most gently manner possible the headband came off the light. And not only that, the plastic fingers supposed to hold it are ridiculously thin.
For the rest, we are at the mercy of manufacturers, none of whom have the balls (curse the marketing drones) to look to the customer for the design parameters. Instead all they do is make sure they offer whatever it is that everyone else is offering, then try to cut costs even more…lemming-like, the vast number of consumer goods heading off the same cliff together (I know lemmings don’t actually do this. No matter. Manufacturers seem willing to take up the slack.)
The biggest design change that came down the pipe recently was “Look, fifty different settings, all available at the touch of a single button!” Which is actually marketing-drone spin on “a PCB mounted SMD button is fifty cents cheaper to manufacture.” Here’s the job-site reality; you turn on the light when you are in the room you need light in. Then you go back out to the shop or break area and tap, tap, tap, tap…no, not enough, now it is flashing red — who uses that? — tap, tap, tap…oops, too many, go back and start over.
Every single time.
Energizer up until recently had a torch with red and white and you flicked a switch left or right depending on what you needed. So you could use it in a darkroom, star party, or backstage where “oops, hold on, let me tap this switch past the slightly-dimmer white light and the flashing white light and the other flashing white light so I can get to the doesn’t-make-everyone-scream-at-me red light” isn’t a good option.
At least they are still using AAA batteries. My biggest fear is that they will soon join the LiPo/USB “revolution” and we’ll have a light in our tool box that will be perfectly useable after a mere forty-five minutes on the charger. Sorry about your thumb, mate, I couldn’t see what I was doing in the dark.

One of the big problems we have found with good headlamps is that they are heavy, especially for our kids, who like to use them when we go exploring caves. Not the case with these Bright Eyes headlamps. They are lightweight and comfortable and the 1 watt provides a super bright light for all of our working and exploration needs! Plus, 2 headlamps at this price is a fantastic deal. Other reviews have said the red light and flashing red lights are irritating or unnecessary, but I actually wear both lamps when I run in the dark – the bright light as my headlamp so I can see, and then I loop the second lamp around my belt and put it on either the red or the flashing red so that I am more visible. Couldn’t be happier with these and are planning to buy more to keep in our 72-hour emergency packs and for each or our vehicles.

Cheaply made. Battery cover would not close with the battery in it
