Used this every day for about 6 months until one morning I woke up with a bunch of dead pixels on one side of the watch. An internet search showed this isn’t unheard of for the 245. No big deal though, Garmin has a good one year warranty on all their watches.
Except no. Since this was a renewed watch the warranty is only 90 days and I had to pay $130 for a replacement (which also will only have a 90 day warranty). For something that is a known issue for the 245 I expected a better warranty policy. Right now the brand new and refurbished are only $10 different on Amazon. Play it safe and avoid the refurbished.

This watch is really powerful. I am not sure at all about the battery duration, but it works for 3 days without charging. And, yes, you can heard your music from your watch. Love it!!!

I started with a band, I just wanted something to monitor my heart rate with. This watch has so many features, I didn’t realize what I was missing. I can leave the house without a phone and this watch has everything I need, including music, podcasts and audiobooks. Pairs great with my spin bike. The garmin HRM is spotty, i actually hate the damn thing. One of the reasons i upgraded from a mi band was too incorporate an HR monitor in my training, unfortunately the Garmin HRM sucks.
The built-in coach is GREAT if you want to run a half marathon, Sadly I run full marathons, but it is STILL a great workout companion.
Honestly, if you are considering this watch and you are a runner on a budget, don’t even think twice, this is a quality product.

Great ! No garmin pay , but music , great battery, bike gps on point , swimming never tried yet , but will . Timer is basic , great running watch , not a smart watch , but tracks VO2 that’s , heart rate , it’s cool .

It’s a good entry level for not professional runner. It’s has everything you need. The battery life is excellent and also the gps precision.
Excellent readability in any light condition.
Easy to use and I find really helpful the possibility to use the garmin training programs.
I don’t think that the music version is useful because you need Spotify connection.

Has everything I needed in terms of fitness tracking metrics. Has a really long battery life, too.
