So happy I found these! My old shorts had been getting worn and frayed so it was time for new ones. I wanted to stick with name brand but didn’t want to pay the higher price. Then I found these and took a chance. Glad I did! Super lightweight fabric, mesh inner liner, and no side pockets. Running in Florida I want as little fabric on me as possible. These were just what I was looking for and half the price of name brands. There is an inner pocket that can fit an ID card, credit card, maybe a key. Was worried about no drawstring but the waist elastic fits them nice and snug. Wound up ordering one of each color to rotate throughout the week. Highly recommended.

These shorts were just what I expected. They are very lightweight and perfect for running. My waist size is about 29″ and I ordered the small. Perfect fit. The liner is very comfortable. The liner has elastic around the leg holes which I thought might be uncomfortable but it’s not at all. I have other shorts without liners that I run in, and for those I wear briefs. The liner in these shorts fits looser than the briefs, but not too loose, and keep things cooler than briefs. The little key pocket on the inside of the waistband (right front) is ideal. The only thing that is slightly imperfect is the tag in the back. There are two and the care instructions one is really long. They are soft, but still noticeable. The shorts wash well, and air dry quickly. Especially considering the price these are an excellent value. I will likely buy at least one more pair as I retire some of my older shorts.

The shorts are very comfortable and light.

These are definitely nice shorts but the material used is known to snag easily. You may see imperfections after wearing several times. These are made well and are super comfy. Great shorts for the gym, running or lounging around.

These are nice running shorts. Waist size is good for me, I got a medium, I’m 5′ 9″ and 170lbs, with a 32″ waist and these fit perfect.
Nice and lightweight, the liner is very soft, comfortable, and breathable. Not rough like some other pairs that may cause a rash. I’ve even worn these as underwear sometimes because they’re nice and breathable and they dry pretty quickly from sweat compared to some types of shorts or underwear.
The texture of the shorts themselves is soft and thin, but it appears to be very high quality, I would not expect this much quality at this price point. So in my opinion it’s an excellent deal. I bought 2 pair and these are now my everyday running shorts.

Yep, super light weight and quick drying…exactly what I was looking for. When it’s hot out, these are going to be my default summer shorts. A run followed by a stop at the pool, rinse off with the shower there and a quick dip for a couple laps…perfect morning run.
Size: I wear size 31 generally. The Small fit me really well. I’ve had not problems with it riding up or rubbing oddly. I do use them commando, in case that comes into play with the fit.
Material: really thin and light-weight. I needed that, getting hot for my morning runs, so need as light as I can. If anyone is concerned about the longevity of the material…honestly, I don’t care about that. With the cost of going to my local sport stores and buying shorts, I’d rather buy a replacement pair of these at the lower price and probably still come in as spending less.
When I ordered these, I had just ordered another pair on amazon that was cheaper, out of China and took 3 weeks to arrive. They were both a gamble, of course. The cheaper pair are useless for me, size was crazy, fit was bad for me, now they are sleeping shorts for my wife 🙂
The reviews on Baleaf were really helpful when I came across their products, then some research lead me to this particular pair that seemed to fit the bill for me, so I gave them a shot.
I’m so glad I did, because after this review, I’m ordering another pair, maybe check out one of their other products to try out, too.
I recommend these totally! I honestly do love them, perfect for what I was looking for.

I have Nike, Brooks, Arctetex, Salomon etc…all fine but also over $60/pair. The Baleafs I still reach for most often. Light, dries quickly, fits excellent. I have 2 now and will buy more as my existing shorts die out.

Three stars, who is this guy, what does he know?
Let’s get real here, these are $20 split shorts from China. How do they compare to my Brooks or New Balance split short? They don’t. They’re $20 shorts from china.
Here’s the real info: For $20, they are fantastic. I’ll do most of my training runs in these and will love doing it. The listing says they have a pocket, which technically they do; but it’s a tiny little mesh pocket inside the mesh lining the isn’t big enough to hold a standard size GU. I’ll be fine with this, I can keep all my junk in handhelds.
Size:
I ordered two pairs, a grey pair in small and a white pair in medium, since I didn’t know which size I would end up wearing. For reference I am 70″ tall, 155lbs, and can jam 1 or 2 fingers between the waistband on 32″ waist pants. The size small fit me perfect, the medium are too big. Do with that information what you will.
Pros:
-They are way cheaper than name brand split shorts and do the exact same job of keeping me from exposing myself when I’m jogging through my neighborhood.
-Mesh liner on the inside has the right balance between tight enough and not too tight to keep my garbage from flopping, but not losing circulation
-there’s a mesh bit on the sides that may or may-not help with airflow. The jury is still out on this one, but even if it’s just placebo effect, I like it.
Cons:
-For split shorts they are pretty heavy. I don’t have a scale to weight them, but compared to my Brooks split shorts, they are way heavier. I’m not a professional runner (if I was I wouldn’t be buying these) so I doubt the few extra grams will slow me down enough to keep me from a podium; but they were just heavier than I expected.
– The advertised pocket is just a tiny little mesh pocket as previously mentioned. You could put some loose change for the phone booth, or one single key (without a keyring) in it, but not much more. It’ll be rubbing up against your waist and pubic area once it’s in there too, so you’ll probably get a blister in a very uncomfortable spot if you don’t plan your pocket use out wisely.
Overall impression:
I’ll probably buy a few more pairs because I don’t like shelling out $50 for a bit of fabric to cover my nethers when $20 will do the job the same. Do you get more with Name brand? Yeah, maybe; but I’m not picky and I’ll adapt to what I have. A pocket that fits a GU would be kinda nice.
