I paired it to my Iphone 5 and it works great with Polar app. I run on my treadmill at home and I put my phone on the console of the treadmill. I usually run in an interval format; jog, run, fast run, repeat.
At the end of my run the treadmill and the Polar app usually are within a hundredths of a mile or so. Can’t really expect better than that. But during the run the mileage recorded and mph between the treadmill and Polar app will differ more. I assume this is due to the interval format of my runs.
I also like the extra feedback I get from the app with the stride sensor, namely the fitness rating.
Overall, I love it and would buy it again.

This is the perfect companion to the “dread-mill” workouts I have to endure for the winter training season. I do not like the Polar Beat app, but Digifit had informed me it is working on a Q1 2014 release of an update that will allow iRunner to be BLE foot pod compatible. That would make this one of the best purchases… Ever.

I’m a massive fan of Polar products and the Polar Loop justifies my sentiment. I use it on the treadmill. It took a few runs to get it sync’d, but once it’s sync’d, it’s very accurate. If you want a pod to track your distance, this is the device for you. It works well with Droid OS and Apple IOS.

I think this product does work BUT in my opinion it has extremely limited functionality. I use it on a Treadmill. I was hoping it would measure and record distance after it was calibrated as explained in the instructions. It turns out the differences in stride at various treadmill settings are so significant that the resulting distance reported by the Stride Sensor is consistently wrong by 50% each use. The concept is flawed. The software displays 36 different sports to record. I can only estimate that one or two would have a chance to be accurate and then only if you are extremely consistent. If you want just your number of steps and get distance from a GPS sensor and you are very consistent, then this might be useful. Otherwise: waste of money

First one failed within 2 weeks – intermittent speed data. Sent back for replacement, paid $10 for shipping. Replacement received never worked – starts giving data after 20 minutes into exercise. E-mailed again all fault symptoms and graphs from Polar Beat. Asked for 2nd replacement, refusing to pay another $10 to ship back. Polar Service e-mailed “we are e-mailing you a shipping label”, e-mail and label never came. No response to subsequent e-mails. Nobody picks up on customer support phone number. Used the website support contact for Finland, thinking maybe they care there – no answer. After these numerous attempts my conclusions are: 1. Bad product with defective design or components. 2. Polar customer service is abysmal. 3. Polar doesn’t care about their customers. 4. I will never buy a Polar product again and will tell everyone I know.

Saw a lot of complaints about the size. It is big and is a bit of a pain to get my laces done up (partly due to the tongue interlacing on my running shoes conflicting with it. I don’t notice the weight of it or size whilst running, but I am not a super-serious runner (12-15 miles/week) and I am 6ft/200lb, so a few ounces is not affecting my clomping feet :oP

I received this as a present to be mainly used to integrate running in Zwift (using a treadmill without bluetooth). So far I haven’t taken it outside to test it out, but it seems pretty durable and has a silicone sleeve that the sensor sits into. There is a small ‘latch’ that ensures it doesn’t come loose while moving. Based on how stiff the battery compartment was to take off and the build of the device, I imagine it would hold up well to the elements.
I appreciated that it also came with an extra battery, and can’t comment yet on battery life.
Importantly it connected flawlessly with both my Garmin watch and my computer which is running Zwift.
After calibrating it, I was off running in the virtual world!
I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a foot pod, and for the price it works very well.

Got this for treadmill runs. Wahoo Fitness will recognize this sensor, but there is a glitch where it’ll stop recording when you start a run. As of 26-June, tech support said they’ll have a fix in the next release. Works well with the Polar app, but needed to be calibrated.
I’ve heard a few people say this sensor is big and bulky. This is my first foot pod, so I have no basis for comparison, but its not big enough for me to feel when running or be a bother.
I wish there was an easier way to take the sensor off instead of unlacing your shoes, but I’ll live.
Now I’m fully BLE for my run/bike gear, woohoo!
Update 26-Oct;
Wahoo officially added support for this sensor in their latest app release. I did a few calibration runs this past week. The app tracks distance well once calibrated. However, the pace is all over the place – I think the data used is too noisy, hopefully they can get this corrected. I think its just the way Wahoo is looking at the data and not a function of the sensor itself, so still a 5 star product.
Otherwise, great support for this cool little sensor just in time for the treadmill season!

I’m a runner and try to run outside as much as I possibly can. But when the weather isn’t agreeable, I will typically hit the threadmill. So I was looking for something that would provide me a little more accurate measure than the treadmill display as to how far I am running. Having a couple other Polar products that have held up well through time, I went with this one. Especially since I wanted the bluetooth to hook right up with my apps on my iPhone. So far, no complaints. works great.
