I wanted to put some miles on this headlamp before I made any judgement or reviews. I’m an ultra distance trail runner and I have been using Petzl Headlamps for almost 20 years now. However, the price of this lamp, and its “proprietary” battery really kept me from pulling the trigger on the purchase. I was intrigued by the Reactive Lighting technology however, and finally gave in. Let me first say that I was not thrilled about the $70 price tag for an extra battery for this lamp, not uncommon for me to complete my long-training runs after dark where I need a lamp to consistently last for several hours on a charge, and during 100 mile efforts- I need it to burn all night long. Therefore, extra batteries are always included in my drop bags. The first night run that I completed with this lamp put my concerns to rest. The burn-times appear to be in line with what the company claims. In reactive-mode, this lamp can light up the trail for 100+ yards in front of you! The combination of a flood and spot light blend seamlessly, and the color of light is very neutral/natural allowing you to see all colors of the objects around you (important when looking for pink or yellow trail-marking ribbons). And very unlike most LED lights I have used in the past, this lamp is very easy on the eyes, and allows you to see most of the ambient light in the environment around you. In conclusion, this lamp changed how I feel about what a headlamp should be. This lamp, and the replacement battery is expensive, but the quality and reliability that comes with a Petzl- and this lamp in particular- is well worth the extra money. I am very happy with this headlamp, and would encourage those with any doubts to take the leap of faith and make the purchase, must be seen and experienced firsthand to be believed!

Great headlamp. After doing a bunch of research when my myo rxp died, I bought another headlamp from petzl. It stunk. Difficult buttons lackluster brightness and thick headband. Returned it for this. I love the on/off/brightness knob. I finally dont have to become one with the headlamp and grope my forehead just to turn it on or off. Easy to charge via usb and lasts a decent amount of time. I would like to see one at a lower price point without all of the tech. It’s a headlamp. I don’t need to control it from my phone and have it auto adjust the brightness.

I purchased this for my Girlfriend and I didn’t love having her borrow mine when camping…lol. I have the older version of this unit (regular NAO), which I absolutely love. This one is WAY better though. The back lights up either solid red, off, or blinking. That is a nice feature when mountain biking or hiking. Given that it is red…it doesn’t ruin the night vision of the person behind you either. The unit connects to an iPhone app. Usually things like this are gimmicky…this one is not though! A user can tell the device that you need it to last for 6 hours and 40 minutes and the unit is smart enough to adjust brightness to accommodate the exact amount of time you need it! No more worrying about having it go dead the last hour of whatever you are doing! So smart. I also love that you can customize it in 1% increments to get it to the exact level of brightness you want. So many neat features. The thing is bullet proof too and works just fine if you want to leave iPhone at home as well…

I was on the fence about spending the $ for this purchase, but glad I made the investment. Rear red light will stay on, flash continuously, or every 1-3 seconds or so. Main bulb on front is outrageously bright, and the auto adjust works seamlessly. It will definitely reduce wasted battery. Bluetooth connection to my iPhone 8+ is lightning fast and also seamless I work on construction with high angle ropes and rescue as well. This lamp is STUNNINGLY BRIGHT, and lasts for-ev-er. Hours of flawless operation, and ONE FREAKING SWITCH is amazing. This product is tough, designed very well, and definitely worth the $. Batteries are well made and come with the USB where you can plug them in directly to charge. The battery takes a long time to charge, so I highly recommend getting a spare if you’re going to be depending on it for long periods of time. External battery level indicator on the battery pack is great, along with the app which runs seamlessly and reacts to changes you make instantaneously. I definitely recommend for a one and done purchase.

Durabilidad de la batería a máxima potencia

I was a little hesitant to shell out big bucks on a headlamps when many other companies sell them for a fraction of the price. In the end I did because I did not want to get stuck in the dark at mile 50 of an utlra marathon…This headlamp is awesome and worth every penny. It is obvious from examining it that it is a high quality product. It was sturdy, and I used it for hours in a row and only a little of the battery was used up.

this is the best mountaineering light I have used so far. It is a little expensive but when you hiking down out of a mountain you never have been on before and facing out could be a reality this light is a must. I love the react feature where the light automatically dims for you when objects are close making it hands free allowing you to stay on your trekking poles or keeping your hands on the rocks. A feature I do not use is a blinking red light in the back is a great safety feature if you are a bike rider or runner. I also got it because it is rechargeable by USB. being in the mountains the only power source is solar panels and you can get a spare rechargeable battery for it as well. I like it so much I do not use any of my other headlamps anymore. Great product
